Almond Flour Apple Crisp (gluen free)
5 large apples, cored and sliced or chunked
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar or to taste
2 tbsp tapioca starch or arrowroot powder
1 tsp cinnamon
Topping:
1 1/2 cups almond flour
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
Toss together apples, lemon juice, sugar, tapioca or arrowroot (or cornstarch), and cinnamon in a greased 3 quart casserole or 9x13-inch pan. In a medium bowl mix topping ingredients until well combined Sprinkle topping evenly in chunks over fruit. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, or until topping is golden brown. Do not let topping get too dark as it may have a bitter taste.
